WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

The warehouse associate plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain management of a company. Their primary responsibilities include assembly, loading/unloading trucks, receiving, storing, and distributing goods within the warehouse environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.

 

Assembly

  • Assemble parts and components according to established procedures and specifications using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.

 

Shipping

  • Prepare and load shipments for outgoing orders according to established procedures and safety protocol. Ensure all necessary shipping documentation is completed accurately.

 

Receiving

  • Receive incoming shipments, unload goods from trucks, inspect shipments for accuracy and completeness, and verify quantities against packing lists or bills of lading.

 

Storage

  • Store received items in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and inventory management practices are followed.

 

Picking and Packing

  • Fulfil orders by accurately picking items (5-70lbs+) from pallets, shelves or bins according to order specifications. Pack items securely and label for shipment to prevent damage during transit.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory records. Report any discrepancies or inventory issues to the warehouse supervisor or manager.

 

Quality Control

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies. Report any quality issues to the appropriate personnel and follow established procedures for handling non-conforming products.

 

Housekeeping

  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of clutter. Dispose of packing materials, pallets, and other waste in designated areas.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Forklift certification is required within the first 30 days.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments and inventory.
