PROJECT INFO
2018 SAW ST KILDA FC RETURNED TO THEIR SPIRITUAL AND HISTORICAL HOME GROUND, WITH ALL TRAINING FACILITIES, ADMINISTRATION, CLUB OPERATIONS AND STAFF MOVING BACK TO MOORABBIN RESERVE AFTER ALMOST 7 YEARS OF BEING BASED ELSEWHERE. AS PART OF THE RETURN, A FULL-SCALE REDEVELOPMENT OF MOORABBIN WAS REQUIRED TO CREATE A WORLD-CLASS TRAINING BASE FOR IT’S PLAYERS AND STAFF.
PLAE WERE INVOLVED THROUGHOUT THE PLANNING STAGE WITH WILLIAMS ROSS AND ADCO, TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS FOR VARIOUS AREAS WITHIN THE NEW BUILD. PRIMARILY, PLAE WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE CLUB STAFF AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS IN THE DESIGN OF THE NEW WEIGHT ROOM, WHICH UNDERWENT MULTIPLE LAYOUTS BEFORE THE FINAL DECISION. THE END RESULT SEES AN INCREDIBLE FIT-OUT, WITH ACHIEVE 18MM RUBBER THROUGHOUT THE ROOM (500SQM+ INCLUDING MEZZANINE), 10 INLAID LIFTING PLATFORMS INTEGRATED WITH CUSTOMISED ROGUE MONSTER LITE RACKS, AND A STAND-OUT 6M X 20M BLACK ATTACK TURF TRACK, EMBLAZONED WITH ST KILDA FC LOGO.
PLAE ALSO PARTICIPATED IN OTHER AREAS OF THE FACILITY, INCLUDING RUBBER THROUGHOUT THE SEPARATE MEN'S AND WOMEN’S LOCKER-ROOMS (AGAIN WITH LARGE CUSTOMISED INLAY FLOORING LOGOS), THE REVIEW THEATRE, THE COMMUNITY LOCKER-ROOMS AND PLAYERS ADDRESS ROOMS.
A HIGH LEVEL OF COMMUNICATION AND ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN PLAE, THE ST KILDA FC PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM AND PERFORMANCE STAFF, ADCO AND ALL OTHER STAKEHOLDERS ENSURED THE PROJECT WAS DELIVERED AND INSTALLED ON-TIME AND TO PLAE’S HIGH STANDARD. A SHOWPIECE FACILITY OF THE AFL AND A GREAT EXAMPLE OF WHAT COLLABORATION BETWEEN ALL PARTIES CAN RESULT IN.
