Woodstock-based PLAE was recently named one of Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For 2018, by the National Association for Business Resources.
“Since founding PLAE in 2009, I’ve been committed to making it a rewarding, fun place to work,” said Brett Waits, president of PLAE. “As we have grown, we have added perks while preserving our team vibe and unique culture, and this recognition in the competitive Atlanta market is definitely an honor.”
“The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For program identifies large, medium and small businesses that are leading the way in human resource practices in multiple regions throughout the United States. Nominees are assessed via in-depth employee surveys and an HR questionnaire on communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more,” the NABR said in a written statement.
Atlanta’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For will be honored June 28 at a symposium and awards gala at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, which includes educational presentations and networking opportunities. Attendees can learn about best practices and collaborate with other Best and Brightest companies.
PLAE makes sports flooring, and also offers fitness training programs, customized coaching and group exercise classes to its employees and community members in its PLAE Hard facility, located adjacent to the company headquarters in Woodstock. Staff is also encouraged to take advantage of the nearby world-class trail system and weekly company Ultimate Frisbee games on the local outdoor green spaces.
The company offers flexible personal time off for employees to be active, such as longer lunches for a local trail run, time to travel to a race or a half-day to take a rafting trip. In addition to monthly parties to celebrate birthdays and holidays, PLAE sponsors a team happy hour on the last Friday of each month.
PLAE is currently building a new corporate headquarters campus on a 2.5-acre site in Woodstock, which will include an expansive showroom, a state-of-the-art athletic training and testing facility and outdoor product demonstration and workout areas.
